1.7 Life Moves Forward

Alabaster - Alright, Spongy. Can you say nachos? NAAAACHOOOOS.

Spongebob - Chooooooos!

Close.

Welcome back everyone, to the Spectrum of Life! Today we open with Spongebob hard at work with his toddler skilling. Meanwhile Bumble Bee continues to entertain herself in front of the easel.

This Just In; the mail-lady is still being a b*tch. >_<

Bumble Bee is off to her first day of school! Good luck Bee!

Seabiscuit jumped some hurtles in the garden.

Oriole is becoming quite domesticated. When she's not working out or stealing things she's generally cooking something or skilling up for cooking.

She's also helping out with Spongy's skills. He learns them all in no time.

Jelly Bean, Bumble Bee's IF doll, became real when she came back from school.

They chatted a bit with each other before she had to go to bed.

Poor Spongebob had an IF doll, and I named him Patrick--how awesome is that?! Unfortunately Patrick somehow got deleted. D: When he picked up Jelly Bean and started playing with him, it was even sadder.

Quick, adorable baby montage to make me feel better. GO!

Much better. :D Bumble Bee did some dishes the next morning, making me a proud little simmer. Jelly Bean . . . stares on. Creepily.

Then he insulted her! I guess he has the Mean Spirited trait or something. -_-

Bee helps out with some of the cleaning chores before school.

Bumble Bee - I need to shower, get out!

JB continues to be creepy.

CREEPY! Seriously dood, you're giving me the heebie-jeebies.

Bumble Bee finished her first painting. I thought it was adorables, so I kept it in the kids room.

Jelly Bean - *continuing to creep*

-_-

Sorry if Alabaster doesn't get much face time. Sad, considering he's the founder and all. But mostly all he does is garden, and there's only so many pics you can take of that before it gets boring . . . so here's some of him and Atticus bonding instead. :>

Alabaster - I just don't understand how this keeps happening!

Atticus - . . . .

At least he's getting better at the actual riding part now. They gallop pretty fast wherever they go, now.

Dismounts . . . can still be tricky. XD

They were on another seed-finding foray. All of these sprouts here are special plants. We've definitely got one Flame Fruit bush. Time will tell whether these others are Life Fruits, Death Flowers or Plasma Fruit bushes.

I really tried to get Bumble Bee and Jelly Bean to have a meaningful friendship.

Even though doing so made her look a little crazy to the rest of her family.

But Jelly Bean just kept insulting her on autonomy so I finally just deleted him. I don't mind nice IFs, but the booby-trap-crazy ones and the mean ones get on my nerves.

Alabaster - Oh no, Spongy! It's the CLAAAAAW!

Spongebob - Um, dad? That's . . . just your hand?

He still falls prey to the tickle-monster though. CUTE.

Know what's even MOAR cute? Sibling looooooove! After some huggles--,

--Bumble Bee and Spongebob sit down for an intense game of peek-a-boo. I don't get to use this interaction enough, it's friggin precious.

Spongy also loves him some television, even without the Couch Potato trait.

All too soon it was time for Alabaster's adult birthday. Of course, he decides to do it outside and right in front of the light so you can't see his face. -_- My sims' sense of timing is ASTOUNDING.

You can't really see his face, but trust me when I tell you that it's pretty much exactly the same.

The family had earned enough funds that I added on a work-out room for Oriole. Kinda bare right now, but it'll be added to as time goes on.

Oriole certainly wasn't shy about putting it to good use.

The next day Alabaster masters the gardening skill! Another objective complete, and his certificate gets put up on the wall for all to marvel.

Stray Cat - Hey, what's up man?

Atticus - What are you?! Why are you getting so close?! BACK! BACK I SAY!

Attie doesn't have much practice with socializing with other animals, sadly.

That afternoon Bumble Bee got to go to a fellow classmate's house. You might recognize the abundance of sunflowers . . .

Turns out she went home with her cousin, Blue Jay Bird.

She stayed over long enough to do their homework together. And get a serious case of house-envy, it looks like.

Bumble Bee - Why is their house so much nicer than ours?! Not fair!

You'll get there eventually, don't worry.

Hey look, it's the hound dog puppy stray! Looks like he managed to get over his case of fleas too, so yay for him.

Our outdoor speaker broke, so we had the repairlady over during the night to fix it up.

We also got ourselves a vampire gnome, thanks to the plasma fruit bushes. I went ahead and sold it, however. I'd rather have the 1000 extra simoleons right now than an infestation of vamp gnomes.

The next day it was Spongebob's turn up to the cake. Dad was on hand to cheer him on.

And so was the repairlady. I don't THINK she's still there from last night, I think we ended up having to call her back for the TV or something.

At any rate, Bumble Bee came home from school just in time to celebrate with the family as well.

Ta-daaaaaaaah! Spongebob successfully transitioned into a child, crossed eyes and all. rolling the Neat trait.

Bumble Bee and Spongebob soon got to the most important part of birthdays, the cake of course.

With his Loves the Outdoors trait Spongebob was rolling all sorts of wishes involving fishing. To accommodate the hobby I built a little fishing pond at the back of the property.

Aw, dangit! Oriole got arrested for the first time that night. It's doubly sucky, since she was supposed to get a promotion that night. :< So much for that.

We needed some more funds for the household, so the next afternoon . . . well . . .

Atticus - I AM NOT A HORSIE WHORE!!!

Regardless, he nabbed us a cool 1500 simoleons for his stud fee thanks to his nearly-maxed racing skill. Way to go, Attie!

Atticus - Don't talk to me! *sniffle* I feel so used and objectified.

Blue Jay came home from school with Bee and Spongy one afternoon.

Great timing, as that day also happened to be Bumble Bee's birthday.

The boys gladly got into the cheering mode.

Mom joined in as well.

Bee sets off in her sparkle-twirl-of-awesome.

And successfully transitions into a very pretty teen, rolling the Couch Potato trait. Perhaps influenced by her brother's TV time?

That night it was also Oriole's Adult birthday. She looks . . . excited . . . O_o Maybe a little TOO excited.

She looks exactly the same as well. Lookin good, Oriole. :D

That night was a day off so she got sent out to see what she could swipe us. Instead of that car back there she took 3 outdoor lights. I think her klepto skills might be slipping in her old age . . .

Oriole - Hey! I'm not old yet! Watch it!

Spongebob put his fishing pond to good use. With . . . varied results. Poor guy.

He soon got the hang of things, though.

And Atticus was sure to give the pond his unique seal of approval as well.

Spongebob - Hey, just make sure you don't suck up any of the fish!

Well that's it for this episode! Stay tuned to see what other adventures await our industrious Spectrum family.

  1. Loving Bumbles (She's growing up so nicely!) but, unfortunately, I can not lay claim to the conception of Sponge. So, when will we tell them that Bumbles and Sponge are only HALF siblings?
Bumbles, come to your real mummy!
