1.8 The Love Connections

Welcome back everyone, to what could very well be the last chapter of generation one, depending on who wins the heir vote at the end of this one! Exciting, yes?

Bumble Bee - NO!

Oh don't mind her, she's just in the middle of a teen mood-swing. She's excited, too.

Bumble Bee - You will not take heirship away from me, squirt. I will bury you in the backyard.

Spongebob - Are you sure that's the answer to what 5x5 equals? O_o

The siblings will have plenty of time to fight it out. For now, life continues in the Spectrum Family. Alabaster has managed to grow a Death Flower plant, yaaay! We also have Egg and Cheese growing right now. Coming right along in the plant challenge.

Oriole's cooking adventures are . . . varied in their results. That's supposed to be spaghetti. I think. O_o Back away slowly, dear. Back away slowly.

Her klepto adventures haven't been terribly fruitful of late, either. But every little bit helps.

So much in fact that we were able to give the house it's final make-over for this generation. I'll probably tear it down and build up from scratch for Gen 2. For now, the kitchen got completely remade and the living-room extended, and a second bathroom added onto the main bedroom.

Aww, what's with the sad face, sweetie?

Bumble Bee - My crush keeps turning down my offers to come over. The prom is only two days away and I don't have a date yet. D:

It's true, he kept saying he would come over and then cancelling two seconds later. >_< Very annoying.

Alabaster - 5x5 is 25, son. Not . . . 'buried in the backyard.' Where'd you even get that idea from?

Spongebob - Sometimes it's better to wonder, dad.

Bee is continuing with her painting skill. Such a cute giraaafffeee!!

Spongy continues to be adorable. I love the submarine adventure option for kids in the tub. Very cute.

I finally got fed up with Bee's crush ducking her all the time, and tried inviting him out instead. And THAT worked, for whatever reason. Bizarre. So that Saturday she went to meet him at the Port-A-Party Warehouse.

Her crush? Why, Dakota Fox of course. He starts life as a toddler and I'm happy to say is growing up QUITE nicely.

He and Bumble Bee get right to work on their budding friendship from school.

Then it was right inside to work on their singing skills. Nothing like a bit of karaoke to bring some sims closer together. It took Bee a little longer to get into it than Dakota, but she gives in by the end. Can't Fight that Lovin' Feelin' after all.

No friendly outing/date would be complete without some pics in the photo-booth. Just friendly though. For now. ^_~

Then it was over to one of the arcade games, where Dakota got whooped pretty bad if those facial expressions are to be believed.

A friendly game of pool? Dakota looks worried he's about to lose here, too.

But I think he's safe. Looks like Bumble Bee has other things on her mind besides pool. :D

They finally wound out their day with a few flirts tossed back and forth before Bee was forced to go home to see to some low motives.

Speaking of low motives . . . Atticus has gotten QUITE grungy. It was up to Oriole to give him a good brushing and perk that coat back up to pristine.

The next day Dakota STILL refused to come over, so I had Bee invite him to the bookstore or something so I could finally seal the deal of their relationship before prom.

I WAS mad at him . . . until he rode up on his horse, Bramble. O_o *fans self*

Needless to say, it didn't take long to get an official First Kiss and an agreement to go to prom together.

Meanwhile Oriole has gotten high enough in the criminal career to officially start the Thief branch. Nice stripes, Oriole! :D

Alabaster is a fan, too.

True love forever. <3  . . . ignoring the red need bubble there over her head. I think she was tired. XD

Out in the garden . . . MONEY TREEEEEE! We've also got the steak and burger patty plants growing now. The only ones we're missing are the Life Fruit and the Omni, woooo!

It was soon time for Bumble Bee's prom! Such a cute dress. Though, we could really use a few more options for teen girls' formal-wear for this very reason.

Dakota didn't show up at the house (I'm beginning to wonder if there's a glitch) but he met her at the school regardless.

They had themselves a great prom, started going steady and Bee won the Prom Queen crown.

Atticus is still as adorable as ever. He and Al have had more time to go out riding together lately, boosting Alabaster's riding skill.

But more importantly, it was already time for Spongebob's teen birthday! Time is really flying by in this file!

Oriole - No fair, I wanted to stand there.

Oh, don't be a sourpuss. Just cheer Spongy on like a good mommy.

Spongebob - Meh, I've seen better.

Where? O_o Regardless, Spongy successfully transitioned into a teen, rolling the Easily Impressed trait.

Both teens had wishes to join afterschool activities, so with the new computer I had Al sign Bee up for Art Club and Spongy up for Shop Club.

Oriole had an opportunity to read a book and increase her job performance. Not sure why she decided to do it on Spongebob's bed, but whatever.

Alabaster finally got high enough in his riding skill to strike a Heroic Pose! *wolf whistle*

Some more thieving attempts by Oriole. She managed to steal one Sloppy Jalopy, but after that it was nothing but random decor.

Lefty - Give us some sugar!

Spongebob - No! Nooooooo! My heart belongs to someone else, Lefty!

Spongebob did indeed have a crush of his own, miss Talia (her last name escapes me right now). She also refused to come over to the house so I'm pretty sure it's a glitch of some sort now. At any rate, Spongebob chased her down at the Flying V Coffeeshop.

Spongebob - How do you feel about marriage?

Talia - It's okay I guess . . . unless you're proposing to me right now? Because that would be extremely creepy and inappropriate.

Spongebob - Yeah it would . . . wouldn't it?

Spongebob - You have a pretty mouth.

*facepalm*

Luckily Spongy's somewhat off-color attempts at flirtation went over well with young Talia.

Spongebob - How about some yellow flowers! Yellow is my color, by the way. YEEELLLLOOOOOW.

Talia - Aw, that's sweet. Thanks, Spongy.

First Kiss!! For some reason sim girls really go for the crazy ones.

Talia readily accepted Spongebob's request to go steady and his invitation to prom.

Thanks to all her hard work I treated Oriole to one of the cheaper packages at the spa.

In celebration to the fact that she maxed out her ahtletic skill! Congrats Oriole!

All too soon it was time for Spongebob to attend his prom. Too bad he refused to wear his formal. >_<

He and Talia still had a great time together, and of course Spongy won Prom King. (I'm beginning to think your sims always automatically win.)

Alabaster - Best Friends Forever!

Spongebob still loves to fish. In his undies. To each his own, I suppose.

Bumble Bee is still painting away. I've kept a lot of her paintings, free decor and all. Plus most of them are awesome.

Oriole has reached the Cat Burglar. One more promotion til Master Thief! So exciting.

Alabaster had a brief senior citizen moment. For some reason he suddenly decided he couldn't go through the gate anymore. It wasn't locked either. I finally had to move it. -_-

Her next feat of awesome was completing Oriole's portrait!

That night it was time for Atticus to become an elder-horse. He does his sparkle-dance.

AWWWWEH! His muzzle turned grey!

He makes a very adorable elder horse. CUTE

Oriole thought it'd be fun to play in the sprinklers that evening while Alabaster got some last-minute fertilizing done.

They sat out and watched the starts together afterward. True Love 4EVAR.

Then it was Al's bedtime. Oriole is reading up on all the recipes she can learn on her day off.

Bumble Bee got a participation trophy from Art Club. Very nice.

Scumbag Raccoon - Aw, man!

HAH! I told you I'd get around to buying one of these guys eventually. GTFO!

Alabaster can now ride bareback. :D

He's also finally been immortalized in paint, as well.

It's now time to choose which of Alabaster's children will carry on the Spectrum name! Alabaster hasn't finished all of his goals yet, but he's still got plenty of time. I'll still be working with his stuff on into generation 2, so never fear. Stay tuned for the heir poll!
